The Gastonian, comprised of two striking Regency-Italianate style mansions, rests in the heart of Savannahs beautiful Historic District. Built in 1868, the mansions served as a residence until 1985. These majestic mansions, like many of Savannahs old homes, serve as reminders of Savannahs rich history.
The exterior cracks along the mansions facade and a crack along the fireplace in the original kitchen of The Gastonian were caused by an earthquake that struck the Coastal Empire in the late 1800s. Many Savannahians fled their homes during the panic, but The Gastonian remained standing. In December of 2000, The Gastonian was selected for membership in Relais and Chateaux, the international association of luxury hotels and restaurants.
