In the beginning (1950's) Richard's father bought Hipsley Farm and cows were milked here. It was a small, mixed farm of a very traditional sort. By 1988 there were a neighbour's vintage tractors in the cowshed and a student in the cottage. The cows had left but we still farmed the land.
