The Rock House Estate is about 100 acres of farm and woodland in the unspoilt North Pennines at Nenthead near Alston. The North Pennines has been designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (similar to a National Park) and it is Britain's first 'European Geopark' (area of particular geological interest) but it is still relatively unknown as a holiday area. This is magnificent countryside for outdoor pursuits without the crowds, and without the badly eroded footpaths.
