Charming self-catering apartment above British owned finca (farmhouse) located high in the Jalon Valley. We are situated in the Marina Alta region in the province of Alicante just outside the picturesque village of Castell de Castells, an ideal base for exploring the mountain villages, coastal towns, medieval markets and local fiestas. This location is ideal for those who enjoy walking, painting, writing, bird watching or just getting away from the hustle and bustle to relax in comfort and soak up the weather. We live by solar power and natural spring water, have 2 friendly dogs, cats, several parrots, budgies and chickens. The accommodation offers a double bedroom and a light, airy open plan living area with exposed beams, log burning stove and private south facing patio with stunning mountain views. Here you can relax in comfort in your own little corner of paradise. The access to the finca is a half kilometre track which is a little rustic so please don´t hire a Porsche! (although our 1st renters did manage it in a Mazda sports car)! Our previous renters have described the location as a little piece of heaven. The house is surrounded by hollyoaks, pine trees and a variety of low bushes. The only deciduous trees being our almonds and figs, making our views very green all year round. We also have grape vines, nispero,and carobs.. Several walks start directly from the doorstep of your accommodation, and many more are available in the countryside around. Two kilometres from the apartment, in this area called Pla de Petracos, there are ancient cave paintings. Caves at the archaeological site have a viewing platform, and the paintings are explained on six interpretive panels. Golfing is available 40 minutes away, eg Oliva Nova Golf Course which was designed by Ballasteros.
