Good day Well, Chillin’Out is finally ready to open as our Guest Farm. We are situated at the foot of the Outeniqua mountains, halfway between Knysna and George. The closest town is Sedgefield (approx. 25 kilometres away). The farm is also a stone’s throw from the Knysna State forest so the view is absolutely spectacular. We have had huge success over the last month with entertaining families, especially those with children. We milk the cow every morning, feed the donkeys, collect chicken eggs and generally have a real farm experience. For many children, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and not something that is quickly forgotten. We currently have 2 donkeys, 2 cows and a calf, 14 sheep and 5 lambs, 35 chickens and 3 horses. A real menagerie! The cows and horses have the run of the farm, so closing gates is really important : ) The guest accommodation is situated in a 100sqm flat above the barn and is self-catering. There are 2 bedrooms (main bedroom has a queen size bed and second room has 2 single beds), a dining area, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and reading nook. It is completely equipped for self catering. The daily routine is as follows: (and we welcome any participation by our guests) At 06:45, we groom and feed the donkeys and let them out into the fields We then herd the sheep into their camp At 07:00 we start milking the cow. As it is done by hand, this takes approximately 30 minutes There are loads of activities in the area including visiting the beach (25 minute drive), acrobranch (tree top exploration), hiking trails, arts and crafts market, farmer's market, fine dining, kite surfing, moonlight meanders, beach bar, cliff paragliding and many others. Accommodation is R 1000 per night for the entire flat (valid until November 2015). Included in the price daily is a loaf of freshly baked bread and a bottle of creamy milk from the morning’s milking (unpasteurised).
