Welcome to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada Easy walking distance to Niagara Falls attractions. Close to the US border. Free continental breakfast items included full kitchen and free parking. Luggage storage is also available. What to expect: Stupendous Canadian hospitality to all - everyone is welcome in our just society from every lifestyle and faith. We treat each guest as a member of the family - our reviews reflect that too. Free Parking and WiFi Private Entry (Key provided on site) Private room Private washroom with shower Double bed (sleeps 2) TV -- no cable but we have Netflix Fireplace (Wood included for winter) Continental Breakfast items always free of charge! Shared Kitchen Shared backyard and front porch space NOTES: We do have extra floor mattresses and a pull out ouch for more than 3 bodies upon request at an extra charge of $10 per person per night if more than 3 guests (5 MAX) -- Please let us know before booking so we can arrange it) Check-In time says 3 pm but if we are given enough notice beforehand (At least 24 hours) we are flexible with arrival times knowing how international travel works. The other guests are not required to leave before check out but let us know your circumstances and we will do our best to help. PETS: We do have a cat that lets us live at this house (Agustus Catticus is his name) so please let us know if you have allergies or are not fond of cats and we will make sure that he is not in your space before or during your stay. He does sometimes like to hide in the laundry room across the way from your space but for the most part stays out of the room. Our home is your home. We are frequent travelers and for the most part have had good experiences with our own BNB travels/experiences and we want to give back by being able to provide the best accommodation/experience that we can for you. Robert and I are mostly flexible with timing/luggage storage/pickup/drop off (when possible) and want you to feel comfortable in our home. You will have access to your suite which includes a private washroom along with our kitchen, front porch and back yard. We do have a BBQ for the warmer weather as well and we offer free parking in our driveway. That said there are always quick meals and snacks available in our home - too many times we've arrived at a travel destination and were too tired to go out so that is what we have in mind! Quick easy food and our home is yours. We are always available via messages/text email or whatsapp if you need or are missing anything. 99% of the time either of us are home to greet you and give you the key. If we are unable to be home for your arrival we will give you plenty of notice and instructions to get into your space. We do like to socialize and will often invite our guests to join in a meal and conversation but at the same time we do respect your privacy when needed We also have a decently stocked pantry for you to use as desired. Similarly since the recent legalization we almost always have something on hand for a small donation of travel currency change - that said our only rule is consumption on our property only. It is illegal to consume in public. Four-legged guests can accompany their owner free of charge. Please just let us know who is visiting when you reserve so we know not to let our cat outside or near your space. We also have information on how to avoid the 'tourist traps and taxes' as well as a variety of recommendations / information pamphlets on-site in addition to our breadth of knowledge & experience. Please note that it is an expensive uber/cab ride from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) if you don't have a car. Please let us know when you are booking if you require transportation to and from the airport (at a small fee) and we will do our best to accommodate that. Also, again if feasible we do offer pick up service from the Canadian side of the Rainbow Bridge to our place (if you are traveling from Buffalo or Niagara Falls USA airports) We do not cross the borders unfortunately but may be able to pick you up if you do have a later flight. We are in a quiet neighborhood just off the main strip of the Canadian side of the falls. Close enough to walk to a drug store, liquor store, Bakery, Park (with an outdoor pool for the summertime), shops or even to walk across the border (via the Rainbow Bridge which is the closest bridge to the house) Yes the falls are a bit of a walk (20 minutes to the biggest falls) but unless you have mobility issues all are an easy walk from our home. Some people saunter - like you should on a relaxed vacation - others hustle, depending on levels of energy and physical capacity. For us it's a 10 minute walk to Casino Niagara and the waterpark - 30 minutes to cross over to the USA by foot, 10 minutes by car including border delays to cheap gas in Niagara Falls, USA!) From our house you can walk to: The Falls Clifton Hill Zip Line Hershey Store Niagara Speedway (New Go Cart Track) Fallsview Waterpark Casino (Fallsview and Casino Niagara) Bird Kingdom Journey behind the falls Hornblower Boat Cruises Casa de Natas (https://www.facebook.com/palidotdesserts/) -- *Candice’s Favorite Bakery* And it’s a short drive/uber to: Marineland The Butterfly Sanctuary The Gorge Helicopter Rides Great Wolf Lodge Lundy’s Lane Floral Clock Oh Canada Dinner Theatre (http://ohcanadaeh.com/) Seneca Queen Theater (https://senecaqueen.ca/) which usually has good shows on Saturday nights. We've seen a good Led Zeppelin and Travelling Willburys cover show there -- reasonably priced and good times! Scotiabank Convention Centre (http://www.fallsconventions.com/) We do recommend self exploring the wineries of Niagara on the lake and surrounding areas but there are also tours available (http://wineriesofniagaraonthelake.com/) Other interesting attractions/things to do around us include: Fireworks at the falls -- 7 days a week from Victoria day through to Labor day and weekends during the shoulder/winter season. Green spaces for picnics/BBQ/Bike Rides along the Niagara River Special seasonal displays from flower gardens in the spring and summer to a really cool drive through Christmas display (donations are requested) that you can check out during the winter. We also recently found a local house in the area (about 15 min drive from our house) that does the whole Griswold Christmas lights display. Whether you are looking to explore Historic Sites, The Wineries, Hiking the escarpment or visiting nearby beaches (Crystal Beach or Port Dover (hint: Friday the 13th is always busy) or Sunset Beach in St. Catharines (Beautiful sunsets BTW -- very romantic and 10 cent merry-go-round rides - not open during our cold season) Just ask and we can provide recommendations and help with bookings if you'd like. Hoping you will choose to stay with us during your holiday; that-is, Gus-permitting! Sincerely, Candice Losee / Robert Kernoghan
