Welcome to Madiyana Safari Lodge. We are located on Jinack Island (also known as Paradise Island), (see map) which is just off the coast of The Gambia and is approximately 15 km long and 2 km across. This island boasts around 11 km of deserted beach, no hasslers and bumsters and plenty of eco tranquility. We do offer an airport pick-up and drop-off service as well as ferry you to the island by boat.
On the island there is no traffic (apart from a couple of donkeys) and no discos to disturb your eco holiday on the golden beaches of paradise.If, on the other hand you are after tranquility, deserted beaches, nature, birdwatching, fishing, bush safaris, dolphin spotting and peace then Madiyana is perhaps the only accommodation in Gambia offering you just that.
Only natural materials have been used in the construction of the lodge which is beautifully set back among sheltering trees. All rooms are furnished with wonderfully comfortable beds and are equipped with mosquito netting.
The lodge is comprised of 8 huts sleeping 2 persons per hut and the lodge facilities are staffed entirely by local villagers. To maintain the islands unspoilt nature we do have a policy of having a maximum of 10 guests at any one time.
Madiyana Safari Lodge has a well stocked bar and a restaurant serving delicious, organically grown and locally produced food. This is one of the few restaurants in The Gambia where you can eat your lunch or dinner on the beach.
