Welcome to Summerfield Inn. We invite you to explore our elegant 1920's era home. Located in the center of the historic district, we are only a short walk to the world famous Barter Theatre, the state theatre of Virginia and Abingdons Martha Washington Inn. We are within walking distance of small shops, antique shops, several restaurants and the Virginia Creeper Trail.
Summerfield Inn is a large 1920s era Colonial Revival home, offering our guests a truly unique bed and breakfast experience. Large and bright guestrooms give you space to relax and unwind. A choice of seven guestrooms, three of which are ground level. All have in-room modern baths, most with whirlpools including plush towels, robes and hair dryers. Each guestroom has independent control of central heat/air conditioning. Our large parlors with gas fireplaces and sitting areas provide ample space for both small and large groups. A guest pantry is available for morning coffee, complimentary snacks, beverages and includes a refrigerator and sink. An old fashioned wraparound porch with rocking chairs and swing is a wonderful place for morning coffee, a midday break or evening relaxation. Guests enjoy an afternoon social time with light refreshments and complimentary wine. Enjoy a walk along the stone pathway with English style rose and perennial garden. A full gourmet breakfast is served each morning.
Abingdon Va. offers visitors a variety of recreational and sightseeing options. Attend a matinee or evening performance at the Barter Theatre. Take a leisure self-guided walk along tree lined streets within the historic district and observe well-preserved historical homes and buildings. Enjoy birding and bird watching or a bicycle tour of the Virginia Creeper Trail, a 34-mile recreational trail, winding through Virginia's most beautiful scenery.
