The Strand is located right in the heart of the city, and boasts one of Bergen’s greatest views. From the sun terrace and indeed from most of our rooms and suites, you can see some of Bergen’s finest attractions such as the Fish Market, “Bryggen”, “Vågen” and “Fløien”.
The Strand is quite a historical hotel. The building itself and the surrounding area, in which the hotel is located, were built in the late 1920’s. Originally, the building housed two separate hotels named “Fønix Hotel” and “City Hotel”. Olaf Jørgen Strand bought the two hotels in 1969, and united them to the hotel that today is the Strand.
The Strand Hotel is a lovely full-service hotel with distinctive character. The hotel consists of several suites and 88 comfortable rooms, each equipped with pay-TV, a mini-bar and internet access.
