Miner’s Lodge is located at Gausu in Obuasi, five minutes drive from the historic township of Obuasi. It is the most competitive hotel in Obuasi and rated among the best in the Ashanti Region.
Obuasi is the home of Anglogold Ashanti one of the largest mining companies in the world.
The Lodge is located only 45 minutes drive from Kumasi and offers an ideal ‘escape’ from the hustle and bustle of Kumasi at a very competitive rate in a clean and secure environment.
The Lodge consists of 24 guest rooms with utmost privacy. It has a restaurant serving both local and continental dishes, Internet, Telephone and Fax facilities and a Conference Hall with capacity to seat up to 50 persons. The conference facilities include TV with VCR, Overhead and LCD projectors, Flip Board with Charts and PA Systems.
The Lodge partners with Anglogold in arranging mine tours. This tour not only provides you with the history of the mining industry in Obuasi but also provides you with a once in a life time experience of descending into the shafts where the mining is done. Visitors also see the process of treating and pouring of Gold as well as the Bullion rooms where the Gold Bricks are stored. It is rumored that if one can lift the bullion, it’s one’s for keeps!
